"Beyond Pride"


THE ASK: 

Google Pixel RFP'd us for a Q2 campaign focusing on the Pixel’s unlimited storage and its ability to automatically arrange user photos into distinctive collections. They wanted to focus on the colorful, joyous sights and sounds of Summer and tap into the Google Pixel community to promote their product.

MY SOLUTION: 

Given the campaign's summer timing, its alignment with community and color and the intersection between Google's inclusive brand values and Mic's mission, I proposed a content partnership around LGBTQ Pride Month. We created “Beyond Pride,” a sponsored popup section that aggregated Mic’s ongoing editorial coverage related to the LGBTQ community, as well as an accompanying co-created branded series, "Small Towns, Big Pride."

We went beyond the mainstream parades and sent photojournalists to towns in Pennsylvania, Indiana and Idaho, to provide an intimate look at how members of the LGBTQ community across America celebrate Pride — resulting in authentic photo-essays captured using the Google Pixel.
